The Iota Sigma Chapter was founded in 1990 after the same general tradition of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. The founding fathers of Iota Sigma worked very hard to achieve an active chapter in under two years and the chapter has been strong ever since.
The excerpts on these pages are taken from The Spirit of Youth: A History of the Iota Sigma Chapter of Sigma Chi, compiled by Adam Niermann ('01) and edited by Timothy Birner ('02). The book was published in the year 2000 to celebrate 10th anniversary of the founding of the Iota Sigma Chapter. The first of its kind, the book chronicles the first ten years of the Sigma Chi chapter at Valparaiso University, including family trees, lists of pledge classes, lists of officers, important documents, photographs, and personal testimonies from the brothers of Iota Sigma.
